About Ildiko

Ildi headhsotI was born in Szekesfehervar, Hungary, and I started to study voice there at the age of 13. Hungary’s music background is very rich and complete, with Franz Liszt, Zoltan Kodaly, and Bela Bartok as quality representatives of its history.

I was lucky enough to begin my musical journey here. After I had relocated to the capital of Hungary, Budapest, I continued to study voice at the Bela Bartok Conservatory. I was also a member of the Hungarian State Opera House, and I continued to perform for 16 years as a part of the chorus and for many opera productions and oratorios. After I had moved to the U.S., I became known as a predominantly solo performer.

I have learned and worked with great musicians from all over the world such as Lamberto Gardelli, Leonard Bernstein, George Solti, Kobajashi Kenichiro, Rico Saccani to name a few.

I completed even more extensive studies at Westminster Choir College in 2003. I have a master’s degree from the Westminster Choir College of Rider University, Princeton, NJ, and I have been involved with music and teaching singing lessons for 13 years ever since.

Many of my students have gone on to be successful opera and classical stars on a national levelIldiko with students, and many of them have landed the lead role at their high school musicals and plays. I have taught all ages varying from 7-78, but the majority of my students are 11-25. However, they have had remarkable successes regardless of their age.

As a teacher, I focus on maximizing learning opportunities, developing skills, and encouraging a love of music by creating a differentiated instruction to support multiple types of learning.

I motivate, inspire, and guide students to realize their professional talents.

I teach songs and arias in original languages—French, Italian, Russian, Hungarian, German, English, and Latin.
